Common questions

What is Claw?

OpenClaw is the hosted, managed way to run private chat-native AI agents without taking on the infrastructure, upgrades, routing, and maintenance work yourself. The upstream project is also available on GitHub.

What do I get with a hosted plan?

Every plan includes your own hosted OpenClaw instance, client portal access, managed operations, service visibility, backups, and a clean path to either managed shared-key usage or BYOK.

Is there a real client portal?

Yes. The portal is already live. Customers can register, verify email, sign in, reset passwords, update billing details, manage multiple instances, review transactions, buy credits, and handle day-to-day instance actions from one place.

How do pricing and currency work?

Our published prices are listed in USD so plan terms and included credit values stay consistent. At Stripe Checkout, eligible customers may see a localized presentment currency based on location and Stripe settings.

Which billing terms are available?

1 month is a recurring subscription that renews monthly until cancelled. 3-month and 12-month terms are prepaid one-off purchases and do not auto-renew.

How do AI credits work?

Purchased credits apply to one instance only, not your whole account. Managed top-up credits include a 10% surcharge. Purchased and allocated credits expire after 365 days, and earlier credits are used first.

Which channels are supported?

Telegram and WhatsApp already support customer self-linking in the portal. Discord, Matrix, Signal, and WeChat are still being expanded, and we can assist with those setups directly.

How does channel onboarding work?

Telegram and WhatsApp can be linked by the customer from the portal today. For the rest, we are continuing to expand self-service support, and you can contact us if you want us to help finish the channel onboarding for your instance.

Are backups included?

Yes. Every hosted instance includes daily backups retained for up to 14 days, plus manual backups in the portal. You can also restore a selected backup from the portal when needed.

How do I get my own API keys?

We encourage BYOK where practical if you want direct provider billing and tighter spend control. Official starting points include OpenAI, Anthropic, Google AI Studio, Kimi, and Mistral. If you want help wiring BYOK into your instance, contact us.

Can the model be changed?

Yes. Managed model routing allows multiple approved models, and the active model can be changed when the instance policy allows it.

Can usage be budget-limited?

Yes. Budget controls are applied to each hosted instance.

Who is this for?

Founders, operators, consultants, and small teams who want private AI agents in production without having to run the stack themselves.
